The territory of the island in the Indian Ocean belongs to Yemen, but the Saudi Arabian soldiers guard the air and sea ports and the most important facilities, while the United Arab Emirates takes care of health protection, infrastructure, and humanitarian aid.
A civil war has been going on in the mainland of Yemen for more than a decade, so planning a vacation in the territory of this country can make many people afraid. But not in Socotra. There are no manifestations of war on the island, it is completely calm and peaceful. The island is called one of the strangest and most beautiful places in the world due to its unique endemic nature and the local inhabitants, who have a rather primitive way of life.
What is Socotra?
This is often the first question when hearing about this camp. You can attack to giggle or hear everything first-hand, because this week-long camp in Socotra with Pilates training is being organized for the second time. The trip organized in February 2023 was a great success, with wonderful feedback and many people wanting to join.
Socotra is a place not yet crowded with tourists, which everyone who visits cannot forget. And there is definitely something to remember: the dragon blood trees that have become the calling card of the island and only grow here, desert roses, the emerald Indian Ocean, wild white beaches where you are alone, an abundance of seafood and goats, goats , goats…

You are given special attention, as the groups are small, 9-12 people.
During the trip, you will get to know the local culture and exceptional nature.

Getting to Socotra, as you understand, is possible, but not very easy. The flight from Abu Dhabi is once a week and no other way. As we mentioned, it is not a place loaded with tourists, hotels and resorts, so travelers enjoy swimming in the ocean or stream, bio toilets in outdoor conditions, and staying in tents. Roaming works according to his own wishes - sometimes near the airport. And the internet is so weak that you would sooner fly to Lithuania than send a message.
Unequivocally - here you are just a small detail in a nature of fantastic beauty.
The Socotra Archipelago (4 adjacent islands of the archipelago) is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The uniqueness of the island is given by more than 300 species of endemic plants growing only here, which make up as much as a third of the entire flora. Socotra has karst caves, the island is surrounded by coral reefs, so it is a real gift for people who like to dive. The landscape, biodiversity, local language, culture and traditions are so unique that Socotra is named as the most exotic place on earth and among the 33 places on the planet that must be visited in a lifetime.
The island is small, its length is 120 km, its width is 30 km. Travel is complicated by underdeveloped infrastructure, mountainous and rocky terrain, so getting somewhere by car is a real challenge.
